Binding Resolutions Outside of Court: Experienced Guidance Through Colorado Arbitration

Arbitration lets you resolve disputes privately, without the added logistical and financial stress of going to court. In our experience, disputes usually stem from a clause in a business contract you signed. An impartial arbitrator listens to both sides and issues a binding decision that is tough to appeal without legal guidance. Whether you face a contract dispute or are unsure if a clause applies to your situation, our experienced Colorado arbitration attorneys can represent you privately.

Oct 5, 2026"I was referred to Alex Cavin, and after my consultation with her, I knew I wanted her and the team at Robinson & Henry, P.C. to represent me as I work toward finalizing my divorce. From the beginning, Alex was knowledgeable, relatable, and incredibly easy to talk to. She listened to my situation, understood the complexities involved, and spoke with confidence and clarity about how we could move forward. What stood out most to me was that I never felt like I was just another case. She was personable, straightforward, and genuinely seemed to care about helping me reach a fair resolution. Divorce and family matters can be overwhelming, especially when a case has already been going on for some time. After speaking with Alex, I left the consultation feeling like I finally had someone who understood the situation and was willing to advocate for what is right while helping me bring this chapter to a close. I’m looking forward to working with Alex and the Robinson & Henry team and feel confident in my decision to have them represent me."

FAQs

Arbitration is an alternative way to resolve legal disputes outside the courts. An impartial arbitrator hears the case and makes a binding decision. This process can resemble a court hearing where parties present evidence and testimony, but the process occurs in a private setting.

Arbitration is often used to resolve contract disputes. The majority of civil disputes can be resolved through arbitration except those involving issues like succession or taxes.

While people who sign a contract with an arbitration agreement are bound by it, non-signers can be bound in some cases. Colorado courts recognize seven situations where this can happen:

1. When the arbitration clause is listed in another agreement.

2. When the non-signer agrees to the arbitration terms.

3. When the non-signer acts on behalf of a signer (agency).

4. When the non-signer is treated as the same entity as a signer (alter ego).

5. When the non-signer benefits from the agreement and is stopped from avoiding arbitration (estoppel).

6. When the non-signer takes over from a signer (successor).

7. When the non-signer is considered a direct beneficiary of the agreement (third-party beneficiary).
