“I remind myself every day that my clients may be in the middle of the only civil litigation they will ever experience, and it is my job to make that process as smooth and successful as possible.”

Robinson and Henry senior associate Benjamin Whitney is a skilled, considerate litigator who always thinks of his clients first.

For many lawyers, handling litigation matters is another day at the office — or in the courtroom. Benjamin, however, never lost sight of the fact that lawsuits and court cases are monumental concerns to his clients.

“One of my mentors once told me a lawsuit is the first thing a client thinks about when they wake up, and the last thing they think about before they go to bed,” Benjamin says. “It is my job to make the process as smooth and successful as possible for my clients.”

He was inspired to pursue a career in law by the television lawyer Perry Mason. Benjamin admired the iconic attorney for pursuing truth and justice even when the odds were stacked against him.  Of course, he knows TV is not real life — a law career will disabuse anyone of that notion — but truth and justice still matter.

“I became a lawyer because I wanted to help people fight for what’s right,” Benjamin says.

Before entering civil practice, Benjamin spent over a decade as a courtroom prosecutor. He gained invaluable experience in a variety of cases ranging from traffic offenses to first-degree murder. Now he brings that level of experience and expertise to civil cases.

He also brings attention to detail, a most necessary trait for litigation attorneys.

“I enjoy working with contract-based cases like real estate, construction, and business disputes,” Benjamin says. “These types of cases require a high level of precision and attention to detail, which I excel at.”

Benjamin’s clients will find that he’s compassionate and fierce advocate. He’s also always candid about what clients should expect from their cases.

In his free time, Benjamin likes to take his wife and two children out to enjoy Colorado’s natural beauty.

“We try to find our way up into the mountains as often as we can,” he says.
