A surety attorney's job is to stop the bleeding.

Eric Kibel is a Partner at Robinson and Henry. He specializes in civil litigation, appeals, arbitration/mediation, and administrative actions.

However, his range and depth of valuable legal experience goes even further.

Over his legal career — which he began as a teenage runner and file clerk — Eric has successfully represented clients in complex matters covering:

  • Healthcare
  • Real estate
  • Construction defects
  • Employment law
  • Commercial litigation, and
  • Probate

“I paid my way through college and law school as a legal assistant and paralegal,” Eric says. “I read and learned more in those jobs than I did in law school.”

While in law school at the University of Iowa, Eric clerked for the Chief Justice of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa. He then swiftly entered civil rights and elder abuse litigation in Colorado, followed by nearly a decade of diverse litigation in Southern California. Subsequently, Eric served as general counsel for a specialty healthcare provider, overseeing operations for over 150 hospitals in California and Oregon.

Eric has tried cases in multiple jurisdictions. In Colorado, the bulk of his trial work has been in district court in both Boulder and Adams Counties.

Eric is a creative litigator who understands the importance of details in complex legal matters.

“The cumulative small details matter in the big picture,” says Eric. “I am detail-oriented and work with my clients to understand and convey the big picture to achieve my clients’ litigation objectives.”

A native Coloradan, Eric has American ancestry dating back to 1794, and a grandfather who participated in the Whiskey Rebellion. In his free time, Eric spends time with his rescue dog and volunteers as chase crew for hot-air balloon pilots. He is a huge fan of Iowa Hawkeyes college football.
