Being a family law attorney means assisting clients as they navigate what is likely the most difficult period of their lives. It is an opportunity to reduce the stress of those circumstances by providing a calming influence through professional representation that helps to achieve their goals and set them on a path for future success.

Robinson & Henry Operations Manager and Attorney Daniel Chandler is a retired U.S. Army officer. Dan brings to the firm a unique and extensive background in leadership and law.

While attending the United States Military Academy at West Point, Dan discovered his love for the law during a military law class. Dan intended to attend law school after serving his active-duty obligation to the U.S. Army. However, his plans were delayed by the 9/11 attacks. Dan served in the U.S. Army for 26 years, but he never lost the desire to become a lawyer. Upon retirement from the Army, Dan fulfilled his dream to attend law school.

Dan graduated from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, magna cum laude. He spent two years in a general practice law firm that exposed him to a wide variety of cases ranging from homicide defense to employment disputes. However, Dan quickly found that helping clients in family law was the most rewarding.

“I enjoy helping families through a difficult period in their lives and assisting them in setting a course for their future,” Dan says.

As a retired military officer, Dan has helped countless individuals navigate difficult situations. Those experiences have taught him that attorneys must truly listen to their clients if they want to get to the heart of what they hope to achieve.

Dan strives to find creative solutions for even the most difficult family law cases. While he is focused on obtaining his clients’ goals, he also educates them on the possible outcomes.

The judicial system can provide clients a legal solution, but it cannot be a legal counselor. Dan is a compassionate attorney who understands his clients sometimes just need someone to hear their story.

Dan has tried cases throughout the Front Range, including Douglas, El Paso, Larimer, and Pueblo Counties.

After traveling the world with the Army, Dan and his wife chose to make Colorado their home so they could enjoy all the outdoor activities with their children.
