I believe she and her team is very knowledgeable and will guide me carefully and thoroughly through this process."

FAQs

The Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) is an independent agency that reviews and adjudicates appeals filed by federal employees facing adverse actions such as suspensions, demotions, or terminations. The MSPB aims to ensure such actions are taken relatively and by applicable laws and regulations.

Federal employees generally have 30 calendar days to file an appeal with the MSPB after the employer issues an adverse action. However, consulting a business representation attorney as soon as possible is advisable to meet all necessary deadlines.

The MSPB can hear appeals for federal employees facing adverse actions based on misconduct or performance issues. The most commonly heard cases involve being temporarily relieved of duties and pay, a reduction in your grade or pay, or a removal action.
