My husband and I hired a business coach for $100,000. He has not provided what was promised to us and we have not heard from him in over a year. We do not have any contracts his office offices in California, but he did come here to Breckenridge for a brief visit in June 2025. Does this sound like we may have a case?

I’m sorry to hear you’re in this position, but I’m glad you reached out. Based on the information you’ve shared, I recommend speaking with an attorney.

In Colorado, verbal contracts can be enforced if there’s a “meeting of the minds” and consideration. Evidence that helps prove you entered into a verbal agreement can include:

  • emails

  • text messages

  • additional written communications

So, even in the absence of a written agreement, you may have a number of viable claims to pursue. There are time limits for filing certain claims, so I recommend scheduling a consultation with an attorney sooner rather than later. They’ll be able to provide you with possible legal options based on additional details from you.

I hope this offers a little hope in what may feel like a hopeless situation. If you’d like to schedule a consultation with one of our litigation attorneys, you can book the appointment online or call our office at 303-688-0944 to find a time that’s convenient for you.
