question iconI was due to have a sentencing hearing where I would have been remanded to jail this week, due to the Coronavirus, the heat was postponed, and scheduled for another day two months later… is this breach of contract within the justice system? If so how do I go about handling this ?

The Colo Courts are having to operate in a limited capacity due to the Coronavirus. I suspect that it would be difficult to maintain a cause of action against the State as a result of this because of Governmental Immunity. Nevertheless, if you wish to discuss your rights, risks, and options I recommend contacting our office to schedule a case assessment via phone.
