question iconMy roommate has been living in my spare bedroom for the last several months, he has not paid his share of the rent or utilities and I want him to leave so I can get someone who will help pay the bills. I’ve told him to leave but he says that I will have to evict him! Is that true?

Unfortunately, since your roommate has established your home as his residence and he refuses to leave voluntarily if you want to force him out you will need to utilize the Judicial eviction process. This process starts with proper notice. If you are unfamiliar with the Colorado FED process I can help. We handle evictions on a flat fee basis. You can schedule a case assessment here: /locations/make-an-appointment/ Or call 303-688-0944 and ask for a free eviction assessment, we can do it over the phone and get started immediately.
