I live in a community that dissolved the sub association common interest community, are we still part of the master association? Does the statute below mean the master HOA only has powers over a sub association with an active common interest community? Colo. Rev. Stat. § 38-33.3-103 (20) “Master association” means an organization that is authorized to exercise some or all of the powers of one or more associations on behalf of one or more common interest communities or for the benefit of the unit owners of one or more common interest communities.

Generally, the Sub HOA is a separate entity from the Master HOA. Sometimes a property is controlled by two HOAs which results in two HOA fees and sets of rules. It is likely that your property is still bound by the Master HOA, but to be sure you should schedule a free case assessment with one of our HOA attorneys to look into the facts more closely. You can schedule a free case assessment 24/7 by calling 303-688-0944 or online at https://calendly.com/case-assessment/case-assessment. At your appointment, we’ll meet by phone or video (zoom), we’ll discuss your concerns, desired results, rights, remedies, the law, the process, timeline, how we can help, costs, etc.
