Lanlord Temperature Control

I just received an email from my Lanlord stating that they will be locking our thermostats and keeping them between 68-70 degrees. I pay for the utilities. I have tried to do some research online, but have not been able to find answer one way or the other. Are Lanlords legally able to control my temperature? I live in a 4plex.

Your argument that you pay your utilities could be convincing, assuming that your lease is silent on the subject. The issue is how much do you want to spend on litigation to prove your are right? I recommend considering bringing this action in Small Claims Court for Injunctive Relief to Order the LL to unlock the thermostat.
