I got a DUI in Kansas in 2012. I had a CDL Class B but was not driving a commercial vehicle. It’s now 2024 and I live in Colorado. I interviewed for a job that requires a CDL Class B. Will this be an issue?

Colorado will run a background check and will see the DUI. Depending on how many you have, it might vary from “one last chance” to “permanent ban.” We have an article on the topic, The Facts About DUI for Colorado’s Commercial Drivers, which discussed the topic in depth. If you would like to speak to an attorney to discuss your options and what will happen in more detail, please call us at (303) 688-0944.
