question iconMy leasing office emailed/left a voicemail stating that an eviction has been scheduled. I have not received a formal notice on my door. My leasing office did call today and advised today was the last day they would give me and they recommended I turn my keys in by 6pm today. First off I wasn’t aware they could do that and second can I say no?

Can you say no? Yes.....But, if you do the Landlord may proceed with the eviction. If you do not receive proper notice you will want to demand a hearing where the Landlord will be required to show proof that he has complied with the formal eviction process outlined in statute.
