question iconA family member purchased a home for me and my husband a number years ago. They told us the home was our and to do what we wanted with it. We lived there the whole time and maintained the home and paid the mortgage, taxes, insurance, HOA, everything. We replaced appliances, repainted, ect. We thought the home was ours. Now that a family member is in a skilled nursing home and they want them on Medicare and Medicaid, we were told we had to move out, which we did, as the home is an asset. It is currently being sold and we were told that we get nothing. Another family member is going to keep the profits. Is there anything we can do to at least get some kind of reimbursement?
