Your Legal Questions Answered

question iconHello, My dogs got off leash from our yard and wrestled with another dog while they were on a walk. We had a court date today and we now have to euthanize our oldest dog and put our youngest on our homeowners insurance. We then have another court date Nov 18th to pay restitution to the ‘victim’. Do we as owners have any rights or defenses? None of the dogs were injured. The owner walking their dog wasn’t insured. He went to ER and they sent him home with no bill or list of injury. He took his dog to the vet and they said there was no injury. They send him home with $38 in dog advil. I am worried that they will try to come after us for more even though nobody was actually injured. Help please.

Dog owners do have rights, and we have defended both criminal and and civil lawsuits on behalf of dog owners. Given the specific nature of your request, it is critical that our advice is provided to you confidentially instead of on a public forum. I would recommend contact us to schedule a case assessment to speak with an attorney. You can schedule an assessment online at go.oncehub.com/rhbooknow or you can call us at 303-688-0944.
