question iconI was awarded several judgments, for child support, children’s medical bills, and attorney’s fees ten ago. My ex-husband has not paid them, and went to great lengths to avoid documenting his income at the time by commingling his personal and business expenses. Two years ago, he purchased a franchise and I just learned he is building a second location. Is there any way to finally collect these judgments?

In Colorado, a child support judgment is valid for 20 years (and often can be revived for longer). Further, interest has continued to accrue on the liability. If you are owed back-child support, you have many tools at your disposal including foreclosure, liens, garnishments, and levies to name a few.
