Criminal Defense

I plead guilty to a class 6 felony back on 2011. I was sentenced to probation and finished it Jan 2021. My question is, am I eligible to have my record sealed. It was a non-violent crime(if that helps) and I have not had any other criminal violations since.See answer

Hi, I hired an electrician and paid them in full and they have not completed the job. Is there a recourse to get my money back or anything else I can do? All I have is a signed quote and proof of their work with their company label on it? The quote has a description of the work they were supposed to perform. I can show proof of the transactions as well. See answer

I have been with newrez / shellpoint since march of last year. In July 2020 newrez began making mistakes on my mortgage statements. I called and spoke to someone aboutht e mistakes and was assured that any mistakes would be corrected. But as I received the mortgage statements in the following months I noticed that the statements began to accrue penalties and once again I called to have this fixed. I was told that there was a flag on my account and the correction was pending. In October I called yet again and went through my payment history with a newrez representative and worked at trying to straighten out the ongoing mistake. After I was assured that all was corrected I received a notice that if my payments were not brought up to date that newrez would foreclose on my house. I called immediately after receiving the foreclosure and I was told to disregard the notice as this was a mistake. In the meantime newrez had taken the liberty of damaging my credit. I found this out when I decided to refinance with another lender in order to move away from the headache of newrez. At this I filed a complaint with the BBB to have the situation rectified which I thought it was. Newrez had removed the mark on my credit and supposedly fixed their records. At the final of closing the lender I was working with called newrez to get confirmation of payments and newrez told the lender that I was thirty days delinquent on my February payment and the contract fell through. I filed yet another complaint with the BBB and newrez is insisting that I am once again delinquent on my payments even though I have provided irrefutable documentation to the contrary. I am at a wall and think now that the only action left is take legal action.See answer

My general contractor cut a 2×36” notch out of 6 I-joists supporting the floor to install a shower pan. A structural engineer says it will cost $12000 just to get it back to joist manufacturer’s specification. I also think that he should refund me for the charges I paid when he cut into the joists. Do I need an attorney for representation in arbitration or court?See answer

A plumber in Westcliffe CO filed a mechanics lien on us a few weeks before our home closed. We put the money into escrow. He never finished the work, last time on our property was 4/2018 and he filed lien on 8/29/2020, well past the 6 month deadline for filing. He now is over 7 months and according to your “5 mistakes when filing a Colorado Mechanic’s lien” the lien may have expired due to his lack of filing for a lien’s foreclosure. He never served us with a NOI either. See answer

I am the landlord. Both of us did not sign the lease. The tenants want to move out more than 2 months sooner and want to have full deposit back. I did not include the lease early termination fees. They did not give me a 30-day notice either. Could I keep the deposit in my case?See answer
