Our roofing contractor filled a claim to our insurance company seeking $3900 for O/P. On our original contract, there was no mention, no line item of this. The contractor claims if the insurance company does not pay, we (the homeowners) will be on the hook for the entire $3900. Is this true, even though our signed contract makes no mention of O/P? Thank you!

Unfortunately, this is a common practice. However, it is unlikely that you would be responsible for the charge if the insurance company refuses the claim. But, we would have to read the contract and the claim and denial before we could offer a firm opinion. If the contractor attempts to make you pay the $3,900 you should contact Robinson and Henry at 303-688-0944 and ask for a free case assessment to discuss your right, remedies, options, and obligations.
