To pursue legal action against a sheriff's officer in Colorado for wrongful arrest and the subsequent loss of your property, you should seek an attorney specializing in civil rights or police misconduct. Potential claims include wrongful arrest, given the 0.00 breathalyzer and negative drug test results, suggesting a lack of probable cause. This situation might also constitute a violation of constitutional rights, specifically under the Fourth Amendment, which protects against unreasonable searches and seizures. Additionally, if the officer's failure to secure your property led to theft, you could explore claims of negligence or gross negligence. If the arrest led to unfounded charges, claims like malicious prosecution or abuse of process could also be relevant. Depending on the facts of your case all, none, or additional claims I have not mentioned may be viable.

These cases can be difficult and complex, as the statute of limitations, government immunity, the officer's actions, and the facts of the case can play a significant role in determining the viability of any claim. I would recommend speaking with a civil rights attorneys as soon as possible.
