question iconIf a town home was purchased after a large hail storm and no information was was disclosed about the damage to the roofs from the storm during the closing of the home .Is the new home owner responsible to pay an assessment from the HOA for the repairs even though the loss date of the storm was prior to the closing date of purchase?

This may be more complicated than most folks initially think. Generally, the owner of the unit at the time of the assessment is responsible of for the assessment, when the damage occurred is not determinative.
