Eviction denied for No Service

Service was done and signed off by a third party over 18 adult. We were there with the file, on 8/5/20, The court was closed for 10 days due to COVID, we went back and that was ruling. Was another service required? These tenants haven’t paid rent in 8 months. They live in my basement and I am a senior citizen who had to take a personal protection order out against the tenant. That was in May, the judge believed him when he said he was moving out and didn’t grant permanent order. Now, he’s dealing drugs out of my basement.

Unfortunately, most Judges work very hard to avoid issuing an eviction order. Thus, you have to ensure that you have followed the process precisely. Most landlords do not want to have to live through the process more than once! We have a team at R&H whose focus is to support landlords in ensure that any eviction we file is ultimately granted. I recommend that you speak with our eviction team prior to proceeding.
