A neighbor was walking his dog off-leash and illegally trespassing with her in front of my home. The fence that goes around my house doesn’t extend in the front yard all the way to the sidewalk. There’s about 6-8 feet of distance between the fence and the street, but that area is still on my property. My dog ended up seeing the off-leash dog as a threat and jumped the fence. The neighbors dog was injured during the incident, but the entire thing happened while they were illegally trespassing on my property (and he was committing another crime in the process – dog off leash). the incident happened almost directly against the fence on the street-side and was definitely on my property.

I can’t afford an attorney nor can I afford to have the land surveyed for the exact place that the boundary ends in relation to the street, but I’m wondering if there are any laws/regulations/ordinances that dictate how far away from the street that boundary lines extend?
