So let’s say you have a judgment, but the other party hasn’t paid yet. There are actually numerous ways in which you can collect an unpaid judgment.

A very quick and simple way is getting a judgment lien, which is when you get a certified transcript of the judgment from the court and you can actually take that to your clerk and recorder’s office and put that against the home that the opposing party has. That way, if they try to sell their home, they have to satisfy that judgment.
