James Conley

Clarity is R&H Attorney James Conley’s trademark. He believes that informed clients are empowered clients, and James takes pride in his ability to make the law more accessible. 

Given that his father is also an attorney, James grew up observing how attorneys interpret and practice the law. While pursuing undergraduate studies in Tacoma, WA, James studied philosophy – a major for anyone interested in the art of deconstructing arguments and searching for solutions to complex problems. 

“These are skills and modes of thought that are transferable to the study and practice of law, so I decided to pursue law pretty early on,” James said. 

James gravitated toward civil litigation during law school and looks fondly on his time in torts class his first year. 

“[E]veryone at some point or another is an employee,” James said. “Diving into an area of law that affects everyone and developing skills that can be of use to so many people was really intriguing.” 

Prior to landing at R&H, James worked for Conley Law LLC, where he conducted extensive legal research into family law, including estate planning and divorce settlement agreements. James also held a legal externship where he worked with criminal defense attorneys on their driving under the influence (DUI), assault, and identity theft cases.
