I believe in client-centered representation; your goals for your case are my top priority.
Ian McDavid is a member of Robinson & Henry’s Criminal Defense Team. With a background as a Deputy Public Defender with the Colorado Public Defender’s Office, Ian is poised to represent clients accused of a variety of crimes.
During his time as a public defender, Ian represented hundreds of clients who faced charges ranging from simple misdemeanors and DUI charges to sex offenses, violent crimes, and attempted murder. Ian also served as the DUI liaison for the Colorado Public Defender’s Office where he conducted specialized litigation and training in post-conviction matters.
Ian obtained his undergraduate degree from Colorado State University and immediately began to pursue his passion for the law at the University of Colorado Law School.
Ian, who competed in mock trial competitions during college and high school, has always been captivated by the courtroom, particularly the process of trying cases.
Ian chose to focus his legal practice on criminal defense because of his dedication to justice.
“I have always believed in the rule of law and seek to hold the government accountable for protecting the constitutional rights of my clients,” Ian said.
Ian takes a client-centered approach to his legal representation with their goals as his top priority. He understands being accused of a crime is a terrifying experience. That is why Ian strives to be the most compassionate counselor and staunch ally for his clients as he can while he helps them traverse the legal system.
So far, Ian has tried cases in Adams, Arapahoe, and Broomfield Counties.
When Ian is not practicing law, he enjoys spending time in nature. He especially likes cycling, long-distance backpacking, whitewater rafting, and adventure photography. In 2020, Ian and his wife hiked the 211-mile John Muir Trail.
