Cristel Shepherd is a seasoned litigator at Robinson & Henry, specializing in defending licensed professionals. She draws on nearly two decades of experience, from her early work in creditors’ rights and bankruptcy cases to later representing large portfolios of properties for developers.

In 2017, Cristel served as General and Litigation Counsel for the Colorado Attorney General’s Office. In this role, she advised licensing boards on disciplinary matters, legislation, and rulemaking. Since returning to private practice in 2023, she has focused on advocating for individual licensees before regulatory authorities, including the Department of Regulatory Agency boards and the Colorado Supreme Court. Cristel has also represented clients in legal malpractice and negligence cases. She combines her government insight with litigation expertise to provide strategic, effective advocacy for her clients.

Representative Matters:

  • Challenged Fraudulent Bankruptcy Transfers – Represented a large institutional lender in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The matter involved a Colorado entrepreneur who attempted to fraudulently transfer over $27 million in assets, successfully protecting the lender’s interests.

  • Litigated Licensing Board Fraud Cases – Handled 55 summary suspension cases, including 40 involving the Barber/Cosmetology Program, where individuals obtained licenses using fraudulent credentials, and 12 cases for the Pharmacy and Chiropractic Boards involving drug diversion, drug misuse, and unlawful sexual contact.
