Katy Kinney

Robinson & Henry Associate Attorney Katy Kinney is a member of the firm’s Family Law Team. Prior to joining R&H, Katy spent time as a prosecutor specializing in domestic violence cases where she witnessed how relationships can break down and sometimes become dangerous. This experience makes Katy poised to help her clients through some of the unique legal issues that family law matters present, such as obtaining personal protection orders.

Katy is also a successful negotiator. In the prosecutor’s office, she handled many complex criminal matters in which she negotiated plea deals, including an unremitting stalking case that led to charging the defendant with solicitation of homicide. Today, Katy uses these well-honed negotiation skills to achieve favorable divorce settlements for her clients.

When clients first meet Katy, they will discover an attentive listener who aims to ascertain their priorities so she can determine the best way to approach their case. During one of the most uncertain times in their lives, clients can expect Katy to be their ballast.

As someone who has always looked for ways to serve others, Katy relishes the opportunity to help people as they take the first steps into beginning their new life.

In her leisure time, Katy spends time with her hound dog, Remy, and terrier, Fergus. She also enjoys Colorado’s natural playground.
