Social worker

Is there a case against Department of Human Services if a social worker discloses confidential information in a waiting room with someone sitting next to her. Today my social worker did that to me and disclosed extremely confidential information regarding my younger son in in front of someone. I can tell the lady sitting next to us was uncomfortable with what she heard and I also feel awkward and very uncomfortable and I just wanted to leave the room but couldn’t.

Unfortunately, I am unable to give great answer your case needs to be fully evaluated in a live consultation in order to help you reach a decision about how to move forward.

However, a couple of issues jump out that could be roadblocks. The first is Governmental Immunity, it is likely the you will be unable to bring this case against the government unless we can find an exception to governmental immunity. The other issue is damages, when we win what damages have you suffered which can be remedied by monetary payment?
