My ex and I have been divorced for about 10 years now. I have asked him for my share of the money from a home we sold from El paso Texas. up until now he will not give me half of the money. the house was under both of us. we sold it for 55,000.00. he has never given me any of that money. I just want what is fair. he has now been divorced twice and is now living with a younger woman and her kids. he was always cheating. I was married to him for over 20 years. can you help me please?

Thanks for your question. Enforcement of Separation Agreements and Permanent Orders in dissolution of marriage cases is a common problem. Any answer to your question or recommendations for further legal action will need to be based upon a review of the agreement or Orders in your case as enforcement of provisions for division of marital property or proceeds from sale of that property are directed by the content of those documents. Another issue I see is the fact the home you reference was in San Antonio. If the divorce took place in Texas, it is more than likely that any enforcement efforts would take place there. I am missing a little information here so I would highly recommend that you schedule an appointment with a lawyer to review your situation and the enforcement of your Agreement/Orders designating division of those home sale proceeds.
